01Who operates PlanBuild

PlanBuild is a product of ConstructAssist ("we", "us", "our"), a UK business providing software tools for the construction and property sector. This policy covers the PlanBuild Chrome extension and the pages at constructassist.uk/planbuild.

02What PlanBuild does

PlanBuild is a Chrome side-panel extension for desktop and laptop computers. When you view a property listing on Rightmove or Zoopla, PlanBuild opens alongside it and shows a summary of the listing together with build/refurb cost estimates, stamp duty (SDLT) estimates, planning and site checks, crime data from open data sources, and a basic map. Paid tiers add local amenities (schools, stations, nearest A&E), PDF reports and a shortlist.

03Information we process

PlanBuild is designed to process as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you use it, this can include:

• Listing data: information read from the Rightmove or Zoopla page you're viewing (such as address, price and property type) is processed on your device to build the summary and estimates shown in the panel.
• Open data lookups: to produce estimates and checks, PlanBuild sends location details (such as a postcode) to public open data services, including postcodes.io, planning.data.gov.uk and police.uk.
• Subscription status: if you have a Pro or Compare subscription, the email address used at Stripe checkout is checked against Stripe's records to confirm your access and restore it on a new device.
• Local amenities (paid tiers only): schools, stations and A&E lookups are made via Google Places, routed through our server rather than directly from your browser, so that our API key isn't exposed.
• Local storage: your plan status and settings are stored in Chrome's local extension storage, on your device.

04Payments

Subscriptions are billed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles payment details in line with its own privacy policy. We hold the billing email and subscription status needed to give you access.

05We don't sell your data

We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with the services listed in this policy (Stripe for payments, the open data sources above, and Google Places for paid amenity lookups) as needed to provide PlanBuild's features.

06Device limit

Each subscription is intended for one person and can be active on up to two devices at a time. We keep a record of which devices are associated with a subscription so this limit can be enforced and so your access can be restored correctly.

07Data retention

Listing data processed to build the panel is not retained by us once the panel has been generated. Subscription and device records are kept for as long as your subscription is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards to handle billing queries, refunds and reactivation. Local storage on your device is kept until you uninstall the extension or clear it yourself.

08Your choices

• Uninstall: removing PlanBuild from Chrome deletes its local storage on that device.
• Cancel: subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through Stripe's customer portal, linked from your receipt email.
• Questions or requests: contact us using the details in Section 11, including requests to access or delete information we hold about your subscription.

09Children

PlanBuild is intended for adults carrying out property research and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if PlanBuild's features or data sources change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of PlanBuild after an update means you accept the revised policy.
